Characteristics: White fine powder or granular material produced by fermentation technology. Odorless, slightly bitter taste. Freely soluble in formic acid, sparingly soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol or in ether, dissolves in dilute hydrochloric acid.
Use: Lysine is mainly used as feedstuff additives, food enhancing agents and pharmacy.
1. Used for food industry
Lysine is one of important compositions of protein. The body requires Lys which is one of eight essential amino acids, but cannot synthesize it so it must be provided in the diet. As lacking Lys in the diet, therefore is called “the first essential amino acid”.
