Gamma-poly-glutamic Acid Introduction
Gamma-poly-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) is a natural, multi-functional, biodegradable biopolymer produced through a fermentation process with a Bacillus subtilis. PGA is a water-soluble homo-polyamide consisting of D- and L-glutamic acid monomers connected by amide linkages between α-amino andγ-carboxyl groups. The molecular weight ranges from 50 kDa to 2000 kDa with the degree of polymerization ranging from 500 to 5,000.
The molecular chain ofγ-PGA has lots of carboxyl group , which can be formed hydrogen bonding internal molecules or between different molecular. It has high water absorbability and moisturizing effect. g-PGA can be used as thickener, gel, filmogen, humectant, retarder, cosolvent, binder and antifreezer. Therefore, it has extensive prospects of application in cosmetics.
Functions of PGA in Cosmetics
•Increase nutriments absorption of the skin
•Long-lasting moisturizing effect
1.Release and supply nutriments gradually
2.Inhibition on Melanin Biosynthesis
3.Enhance the skin health
4.absorption and release nutriments gradually
• Long-lasting moisturization
1.Possess extremely high moisturizing effect, better than the Hyaluronic acid and Collagen.
2.Provides long-lasting humectation effect, especially under dry place.
3.Restore skin elasticity, smooth the wrinkles
• Enhance the skin health
1.Facilitate the skin health condition by enhancing the growth of fibroblast cells.
2.Effectively promote the N.M.F inside the skin.
3.Balance the skin's pH value.
4.Effectively protect skin against pathogenic microbial activity.
•γ-PGA is a special product with multiple functions toward skin and fully compatible with skin conditions.
