The main product of the pharmaceuticals line is erythromycin, which Ercros produces at its factory in Aranjuez (Madrid). Ercros is the world's second largest manufacturer of erythromycin base, salts and derivatives, with an 11% share of the free market production.
Erythromycin is a wide spectrum antibacterial antibiotic which is specially indicated in the treatment of respiratory and skin complaints.
Ercros directly sell part of the erythromycin base it manufactures, but most of it is consumed at the same utility as a raw material going into the manufacture of erythromycin salts and derivatives.
