What We Do
Australian Vinyls Corporation Limited, trading as Australian Vinyls, supplies high quality, pure vinyl resins for conversion into end-use products.
In addition, we source a range of specialty products from international suppliers at the forefront of the chemical industry, including adhesives and specialty elastomers.
Business Segments
Australian Vinyls comprises two businesses - vinyl resin and specialty products - employing about 110 people.
The resin business supplies to a wide range of product applications including water, drainage and irrigation pipe, electric cable insulation, rigid and film packaging, garden hose, clothing and footwear, automotive components, floor coverings and furniture.
Specialty Products trades in products servicing the PVC compound and rubber industries.

Where we operate
Australian Vinyls' resin manufacturing plant is located at Laverton in Victoria, Australia.
The resin manufacturing process is described in the section on Manufacturing.

History
Australian Vinyls was established on 1 August 1997 through the merger of Australia's two vinyl resin producers at that time. The merged entity included two resins plants and PVC compounding operations.
In February 2002, its shareholders, Orica in Australia and PolyOne in the US, sold the company to a management buy-in consortium, supported by CPH Investments Corp . The three compounds plants were retained by Orica/PolyOne and now operate as Welvic Australia Pty Ltd.
In February 2002, the company closed the smaller, older resin plant it had operated at the Altona Chemical Complex.
