Function: UPC ZDTP-1 is a fast curing secondary accelerator for NR and EPDM
Major applicant and properties: UPC ZDTP-1 is mainly used as a accelerator in non-blooming, relative low cost, fast curing systems for EPDM.
When used in combination with MBTS or sulfenamides in NR compounds, UPC ZDTP-1 dramatically improves reversion resistance. Because of its non-amine based structure, UPC ZDTP-1 can be used as a component in non-N-nitrosamine generating cure systems.
UPC ZDTP-1 is non-discoloring and non-staining.
UPC ZDTP-1 is regulated for use in articles in contact with food as specified under BgVV XXI, category 4, UPC ZDTP-1 is not regulated for use in FDA food contact applicants.
Compounding Information: UPC ZDTP-1 can be used in NR and EPDM at levels of 1.0-5.0 phr(based on pdr-70%)as a secondary accelerator in combinations with sulfenamides, thiazoles and thiurams.
When used in NR to improve reversion resistance, care must be taken to select the level of UPC ZDTP-1 to obtain the best compromise between scorch and reversion resistance. Since ZDTP-1 is non-blooming and non-discoloring. It can be used in translucent, fast curing NR shoe sole comounds.
