Bacitracin zinc is a polypeptide antibiotic, which has bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria. Its mechanism is mainly to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial wall, and can also combine with the cell membrane of sensitive bacteria, damage the integrity of cell membrane and lead to the outflow of important substances in cells. Effectively inhibit Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative bacteria; Bacterial resistance to bacitracin was slow, and there was no cross resistance with other antibiotics.
Bacitracin zinc can promote the growth of livestock and poultry and improve the feed conversion rate. Bacitracin zinc was hardly absorbed by oral administration, and most of it was excreted with feces within 2 days. Bacitracin zinc has synergistic antibacterial effect with penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin, aureomycin and myxobacillin. This product has incompatibility with quinoethanol, kitasamycin, virginiamycin and enramycin. It is used for the infection of Gram-positive bacteria and penicillin resistant Staphylococcus.
