Methidathion
General name:Methidathion TECH
Chemical name: S-2,3-dihydro-5-methoxy-2-oxo-1,3,4-thiadiazol-3-ylmethyl O,O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate .
Properties: Colorless crystals, M.P. 39-40°C, V.P.0.186MPa(30°C), 1.495g/cm 3 .
Solubility in water: 250mg/L(20°C),readily soluble in acetone, benzene and methanol.
Stablity: stable in neutral and weakly acid medium but much less stable in alkali.
Uses: Insecticide and acaricide for the controls of alfalfa weevil and certain other insects in alfalfa, scales in citrus, spider mites, bollworm, budworm, lygus bug, pink bollworm, and whitefly in cotton. For use in sunflower, artichokes, apples, almonds, cherries, apricots, pears, nectarines, plums, prunes, walnuts, peaches pecans.
Toxicity: Toxicity class: III
Oral LD 50 (Rat): 44mg/kg, Dermal LD 50 (Rat): 640mg/kg.
Non-irritating to eyes, slightly irritating to skin.
