Product description:
An alkali metal alumino-silicate, in the potassium form of the Type A crystal structure. Type 3A will adsorb molecules with critical diameters less than 3 ? (angstroms). Used for the dehydration of various hydrocarbon and unsaturated hydrocarbon streams such as cracked gas, acetylene, propylene, and butadiene. It is also used for dehydration of alcohol and solvents.
Applications: Multi-purpose. Used for the dehydration of various hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gas and liquid streams.
– Drying of unsaturated hydrocarbon streams such as cracked gas, propylene, butadiene, and acetylene.
– The 3A pore size of Type 3A excludes most hydrocarbon molecules from adsorbing, while allowing water adsorption..
Regeneration: Type 3A molecular sieve can be regenerated for re-use by purging or evacuating at elevated temperatures. The degree of regeneration (water removal) is dependent on the temperature and humidity of the purge gas. Handling and Storage: Product must be stored in a dry location (relative humidity < 90%) to prevent re-adsorption of water. Opened packages should be resealed to prevent contamination of the product. Whenever possible, rotate stock to use oldest material first.
