Tetracycline HCL belongs to a family of broad-spectrum antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis of bacteria by blocking the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the bacterial ribosome.Studies show that tetracycline can induce cold shock response and enhance expression of P450s proteins. Compounds that both inhibit protein synthesis and induce a cold shock response, could potentially act as protein synthesis enhancers under determined conditions.
