PURIFIED TEREPHTHALIC ACID or PTA produced by PTA Plant at PERTAMINA Plaju is an organic acid that is produced from Paraxylene oxidized with air, and followed by the Hydrogenation in Unit Terepthalic Acid and Unit Purified Terepthalic Acid.

PTA is a powder/white crystal that is not dissolved in water, chloroform, ether and acetate acid, but dissolved in alcohol and alkali (Na OH, KOH).

To support PTA production process, PERTAMINA PTA plant is completed with Quality Control Production technology from raw material, catalyst, stream product, intermediate product until the final product.

PTA laboratory is also completed with thorough equipment, such as : X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Palarograph, Surface Area Analyzer and Gas Chromatograph.
