Sormak mining co, established in 1971 with a workforce of over 160 employees, is active in the field of exploring and extracting of mines and deposits in Iran. This company is absolutely managed privately and the director manager of the company has the authority to make all decisions.In the recent years, due to the significant technological progress, extraction and mining of Gilsonite (natural bitumen) have been done from our mines in Gilangharb in Kermanshah province. In addition, Sormak Mining Co. has done so many experiments on recovery of Gilsonite and run a pilot factory of Gilsonite recovery which is totally new in Asia to reduce the ash content of Gilsonite to very small amounts competitive with American Gilsonite.
