  　　Rose, diamond crystal, or amorphous light brown powder, relative density 3.125, insoluble in water, but soluble in dilute inorganic acids. Stabilized in dry air. Easily oxidized when wet, forming three oxidation of two manganese, decomposition when heated, emitting carbon dioxide.
