  CARBOFURAN COMMON NAME:Carbofuran CHEMICAL NAME: 2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethylbenzofuran-7-yl methyl carbamate STRUCTURAL FORMULA: PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: pure product is white odourless solid crystal with no odour,m.p.150~152oC,D420 1.18.It's almost insoluble in water,soluble in many organic solvents,harkly soluble in ether,xylene and kerosene.Unstable in alkaline medium.Light can accelerate its decomposition. TOXICITY: Acute oral LD50 of technical to rats is 8~14mg/kg,acute oral LD50 to dogs is 19 mg/kg,acute dermal LD50 to rabbits is 10200 mg/kg.No irritation to skin and eyes.Notoxicity to bees,though it has toxicity to birds,LC50 to pheaxant is 573 ppm. PACKING:In woven bags lined with plastic,25 kg net each for technical,in woven bags lined with plastic,20 kg net each for granulars. USES:Carbofuran is a broad spectrum,systrum,systemic effect insecticide and nueatocide with stomach poisoningand contact action.It is widey used on rice,cotton,corn and sugarcane etc to control various kinds of pests. PRECAUTION: 1.Pay much appention while usingcarbofuran because it is high poisonous. 2.Don't mix it with any alkaline pesticides,or use it simultaneously with dechlorpionanilide. 3.It is not allowed to spray on the leaves with carbofuran granulars. 4.Stop applying the product in 21 days before rice harvest.
