Not soluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol and petrol. It turns into stearic acid when hydrogenated, and has the general chemical properties of carboxylic acid and unsaturated double bonds. Application: It is used in the manufacture of surfactants, plasticizers, synthetic detergents, dimer acid, polyamide, alkyd resin; Also used in printing ink, paints, coatings, textiles and daily chemical industry.
