  Appearance: White crystal. Anti fluorite structure. Specific gravity 1.66 (water =1), melting point 938, boiling point 1372. Soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, soluble in acid, insoluble in alkali. Easy to absorb water vapor in the air and hydrolyze, release highly toxic hydrogen sulfide gas. Can be decomposed by acid and release hydrogen sulfide; Strongly react with nitric acid.
