Recombinant Proteinase k For research use only 9-Recombinant proteinase K.rar ALTERNATE NAMES Protease K, Endopeptidase K, Tritirachium alkaline proteinase DESCRIPTION A serine protease that displays the ability to digest native proteins, thereby inactivating enzymes such as DNase and RNase without recourse to a denaturation process. It retains its activity in presence of SDS and urea. It is inactivated by diisopropyl fluorophosphates (DFP) and phenyl methane sulfonyl fluoride (PMSF). ADVANTAGES High purity: ≥99% Activity: >30 units/mg DNAses and RNAses: not detected MOL.WEIGHT 28.9 kDa FORM Lyophilized UNIT DEFINITION One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will hydrolyze urea-denatured hemoglobin to produce color equivalent to 1.0 mol tyrosine per min at 37°C, pH 7.5(color by Folin-Ciocalteu reagent). RECONSTITUTION In 50 mM Tris-HCl, 2 mM Calcium acetate, pH 8.0. STORAGE CONDITIONS Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. HANDLING Do not take internally. Wear gloves and mask when handling the product! Avoid contact by all modes of exposure.
