Aniracetam
Specification: 99% CAS No.: 72432-10-1 Appearance: White powder Molecular Formula: C12H13NO3 Molecular Weight: 219.24 2. Introduction Aniracetam is an ampakine nootropic of the racetam chemical class purported to be considerably more potent than piracetam. It is lipid-soluble and has possible cognition-enhancing effects. It has been tested in animals extensively, Alzheimer's patients, and temporarily impaired healthy subjects. It has shown potential as an anxiolytic in three clinical animal models. It is sold in Europe as aprescription drug, but it is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States. 3. Function: Coluracetam enhances high-affinity choline uptake (HACU) which is the rate-limiting step of acetylcholine (ACh) synthesis, and is the only known choline uptake enhancer to currently exist. Studies have Shown Coluracetam to improve learning impairment on a single oral dose given to rats which have been exposed to cholinergic neurotoxins. Subsequent studies have shown that it may induce longlasting procognitive effects by changing the choline transporter regulation system. |
