Detailed Description: |
Silicon carbide is mainly classified into black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide. Silicon carbide, also known as moissanite; it is the most widely used and most economical non-oxide hi-tech refractory material among current C, N and B non-oxide refractory materials. It is also known as carborundum or fire sand. Black silicon carbide is smelted mainly with quartz sand, petroleum coke and high-quality silica as materials at high temperature;
its hardness is between corundum and diamond; its mechanic strength is higher than corundum; and it is fragile and sharp. Black silicon carbide has metallic gloss, contains over 95% SiC, with strength greater than green silicon carbide, but with lower hardness. It is mainly applied to the grinding of cast iron and non-metallic materials. |
