Molecular Formula: C3H7NO Molecular Weight: 73.09 Structural Formula: Properties: DMF is a colorless to yellow transparent liquid with high boiling point with a faint, specific amine-like odor. It is miscible with water. DMF is hydrophilic and polar aprotic solvent, which could increase the SN2 reaction. Existing with strong alkali or acide (especially at high temperature), DMF hydrolyses into formic acid and dimethylallylamine.
