Guar gum is produced as off-white to yellowish powder. The ability to rapidly dissolve in water has made guar gum one of the most sought after organic chemicals. The guar plant, also known as a cluster plant, grows primarily in Pakistan and the northern regions of India. Climatic conditions in the Indo-Pak subcontinent are ideal for Guar plant growth.
Guar gum having almost eight times the water-thickening potency of cornstarch is considered very economical and only a very small quantity is needed for producing sufficient viscosity. |
