Quantity: 1Kilograms Introduction: FDCA is identified by the US Department of Energy as one of 12 priority chemicals for establishing the “green” chemistry industry of the future. Its polymer Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF) has better gas barrier and mechanical property compared to Polyester (PET). Meanwhile, FDCA is produced from biomass that can reduce oil-based material by 40-50% and greenhouse gas emission by 45-55%. Therefore, PEF is a renewable and environmentally friendly material. Applications: 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), as a bio based building block, can be polymerized to Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF) which is a good substitute for PET with increased properties. Meanwhile, 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) can be produced to polyamides for engineering plastics and fibers, to polyurethanes for foams, coatings and adhesives and to esters for personal care products and lubricants. |
