Description: Cabergoline is a dopamine agonist designed to reduce prolactin. In medical circles it is commonly used to combat prolactinomas, a benign tumor of the pituitary gland that may cause an excess production of prolactin. It is also used by athletes who supplement with anabolic steroids that may increase prolactin levels. Cabergoline, most commonly sold under the brand name Dostinex, is not a new drug as it was first developed in 1981 by the Italian drug manufacture Farmitalia-Carlo Erba Spa.
