HA is produced in highest level during embryonic period of life. , and was gradually decreased after birth. HA content is different among the population at the same age. Low HA content in body is correlated to skin aging and physical function declining. For example, HA content is obviously reduced in the premature senility patient.

Topical grade HA has obvious limitation, which can only play the action of water retention and lubrication on the surface of the skin.
