  Detailed Description: Cas No. :61-90-5 Leucine contains not less than 98.5 percent and not more than 101.5 percent of C6H13NO2,as L-leucine,calculated on the anhydrous basis.
Characteristic: White crystals.
Melting point: 286-288°C
Sublimation: 145-148°C
alpha: 15.4° (c=4, 6N HCl)
Water solubility: Soluble in water (25 ℃, and 24.26 g / L), acetic acid (10.9 g / L), diluted hydrochloric acid, alkali and carbonate hydroxide solution, slightly soluble alcohol (0.72 g / L), do not dissolve in ether.
Function and Usage: An essential amino acid found in corns and legumes. It plays an important role in protein metabolism and is vital for growth of infants. Leucine may also promote muscle growth during recovery after prolonged exercise or after hard training sessions. It is one of the branch-chained amino acids, which can be used by muscles as an energy source.
