Mefenamic Acid
Introduction: Mefenamic acid is an anti-inflammatory agent that prevents the body from producing prostaglandins, which have been suggested as a cause of PMS. By reducing the amount of prostaglandins in the body, the doctor hopes to eliminate many of the inflammatory symptoms of PMS such as breast pain, headache, swelling, and other discomforts. Mefenamic acid may also be used in the treatment of pelvic pain.
