It is very volatile (b.p. 48 deg C), moderately toxic and highly flammable. Propylamine is slightly miscible in water. The main applications can be found in the production of agricultural chemicals (e.g. prochloraz; a well known fungicide) and active pharmaceutical ingredients (e.g. chlorpropamide, an antidiabetic drug).
