Uses

N-heptane is a typical non-polar solvent, commonly used as a standard for determining octane number, anesthetics, organic synthesis raw materials, etc. It is also widely used in industries such as medicine, pesticides, rubber synthesis, chemical fiber synthesis, reagents, and electronic cleaning. Alkane is used as a solvent and chromatographic analysis standard material, and it is also used in organic synthesis.

Fire-fighting measures

Spray water to cool the container, and move the container from the fire scene to an open place if possible. If the container in the fire scene has changed color or produces sound from the safety relief device, it must be evacuated immediately. Extinguishing agent: foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, sand, water is ineffective.

Emergency treatment

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing, wash the skin thoroughly with soap and water

Eye contact: Lift the eyelid, rinse with running water or normal saline, and seek medical attention

Inhalation: Leave the scene quickly to a place with fresh air and keep the airway unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately and seek medical attention

Ingestion: Drink enough warm water, induce vomiting, seek medical attention

Packaging, storage, transportation

Packed in iron drums, 137-140kg/drum, stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources. The temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 30℃. Keep the container sealed and store separately from oxidants. Avoid mixed storage. Use explosion-proof lighting. Ventilation facilities, it is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that easily generate sparks, and the storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.
