Nembutal
Nembutal liquid is a barbiturate and it slows the brain activity as well as the nervous system. This means that it can be used to treat insomnia, although it is normally only used in the short term. It is also used to treat seizures in emergency situations and can be used to send a patient to sleep before surgery. It is important to note that if you are allergic to pentobarnital you should not take this medication. It is used in some states in the US to execute death row inmates. This drug can harm unborn babies so you should not take when you are pregnant. It can also pass into your breast milk so talk to your doctor before taking it if you are breast feeding your baby. The side effects are more likely as you get older. The drug is usually administered by injection into a muscle or vein. It must be given slowly if being injected into a vein. It causes withdrawal effects so you should not suddenly stop taking it after long term use but reduce the dose slowly as advised by your doctor. |
