GENERAL DESCRIPTION
SOC-150 organo clay is a specially designed organoclay exhibits high performance efficiency in diesel, low aromatic mineral oil, poly, linear and isomerized alpha olefins, and modified vegetable oil contained base fluid formulations as oil-based mud viscosifier. It is exhibits an excellent balance of dispersibility with initial viscosity build,efficiency and tolerance to adverse conditions for reduced depletion rates.

SOC-150 is highly effective in all-oil and invert emulsion drilling fluids, fracture and
workover fluids.

APPLICATIONS AND ADVANTAGES
The optimum concentration of SOC-150 required is dependant on the oil/water ratio
And density of the system as well as type and concentration of surfactants used as
emulsifiers and wetting agents. Viscosity can be developed in:

SOC-150 is used to increase viscosity and gel strengths in diesel or mineral oil base
systems. It’s an attractive alternative to conventional clay gallants that required higher shear and chemical activation for optimal dispersion and performance.

SOC-150 can be added at the mud plant when building new mud, or can be added
directly to the mud pits when building volume during the drilling process. Adequate
agitation is necessary when incorporating SOC-150 into the oil based fluid. The amount of shear necessary will depend on the temperature of the synthetic oil, the rate of organoclay addition, the oil/water ratio, and the amount of solids and/or weight material in the system.

USAGE
The recommended dosage is 1.0%-3.0% (10 to 30 kg/m3) of total circulation mud
volume. Treatment concentration will vary depending on the type of mud system, solids content and oil-water ratio.
While building the new mud system, slowly add SOC-150 into base oil with effectively
shearing and mixing by mixing pump, agitators and mud guns at the same time.
Avoid mixing rapidly.
A mask and goggles should be worn to prevent inhalation of dust and contact with the
eyes. Fresh air ventilation should be provided in the mixing area.

We note that a small amount of water (0.1-0.2% by weight of total formula) added to all-oil muds further speeds the gelation process and optimizes organoclay use. It should agitate well when mixing SOC-150 with the mud. Since it is an easy dispersing organoclay, less work will be required to incorporate it into the drilling fluid, and to build initial viscosity.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
SOC-150 is packaged in 25 ± 0.2Kg bags, multi-wall, paper sacks. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding, palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and/or stacking.
