In room temperature,it is a small yellow transparent oily liquid.and can turn into the soft white solid after concreting.It is non-toxic and not soluble in water, but soluble in organic solvent like gasoline,ethanol,benzene, chloroform.When hydrogenated,it can be turned into stearic acid with organic acid chemical property. In the high temperature,it become extremely oxidative, polymerized and decomposable.Pure sodium oleate has a good decontamination ability, and can be used as surface active agent.
