Use

Sodium Ethylate / Ethoxide used in wide range of applications in organic synthesis; Agrochemicals; Pharmaceuticals, colorants and aroma chemicals. It is used in manufacturing detergents and biodiesel. It also act as catalysts in polymerization and isomerizations.

Sodium ethoxide is a strong base. It reacts with water vigorously to give ethanol, which is flammable, and sodium hydroxide, which is corrosive. Sodium ethoxide also oxidises quite easily which can be harmful when mixed with other electrophilic substances.
