Sodium cyanoborohydride is a mild reducing agent, commonly used in the aldehyde / ketone prepared imine selective reduction of amine, especially suitable for the reductive amination reaction (Borch reaction). Its slow reaction with water, can react with sodium cyanoborohydride water as solvent.
