In the process of ball mill work,steel ball is continually impacted and extruded by material and other steel balls of the ball mill ,and then is worn. Worn steel ball of grinding machine has a great influence on the final product quality and the mill efficiency,so it is necessary to analyse the factors of steel ball wear.
1.The diameter and speed of the ball mill The larger the diameter of the ball mill is and the higher the rotation speed is,the greater speed of movement of the grinding ball has.When the ball mill diameter is bigger than 3 metres,it will increase the impact the steal ball suffered from,exacerbating the degree of wear. But the speed is not too low, otherwise it will affect the efficiency of the mill. 2.The diameter,ratio and loading capacity of the steel ball The larger the diameter of the grinding balls is, the greater the quality of grinding balls is,when ball mill speed is constant,the greater the kinetic energy of the grinding balls tossed a fall is, greater impact grinding balls have been hit. The greater the amount of loading of the grinding balls has,the greater the probability of collision between the balls is and the wear process is the more tendency to fatigue wear.The ratio between the different sizes of the grinding balls also have an impact on the wear process, the more the probability of collision between the grinding balls of the same diameter is, the higher hit probability is,the wear process more tend to fatigue wear. 3.The nature of the material Material hardness,brittleness,size and shape has an extremely important effect on the cutting process of the steel ball. Such as when the material hardness is much lower than steel balls hardness, fatigue wear of the steel ball accounts for a large proportion. 4.Types and properties of the medium When steel, material is the same case,wet grinding abrasion is more serious than the dry grinding. In the wet milling case, if the steel ball comes into contact with a medium having a certain acid, alkaline,it inevitably produces corrosion. Corrosion and wear each other incentives,coupled with that the cutting of the material destroys the passive film,exacerbating corrosion, resulting in wear of steel balls in wet grinding conditions is significantly higher than the superposition of value of the corrosion and wear alone. |
