Wormwood oil is steam distilled from the dried herb of the plant Artemisia Absinthium. It is known in the U.S.A. as Mugwort. oil from artemisia absinthium or worm wood oil.

Uses:
The wormwood oil is used as a fragrance component in soaps, colognes and perfumes. It is also limited to use in flavoring due to toxic levels of thujone. Artemise has a long history of use in herbal medicine especially in matters connected to the digestive system, menstrual complaints and the treatment of worms. Artemisia is used as a method of correcting breech presentation in Asian traditional medicine. The leaves have an antibacterial action and are also said to be appetizer, diuretic, haemostatic and stomachic. The leaves of Artemisia is rolled up into the nostril to stop nosebleeds in the Himalayas of Nepal. Diluted Armoise oil is used to kill insect larvae.
Functions:
1. Used in perfumery and aftershave fragrances as emollient, soothing agent, muscle relaxant.
2. Widely used in pharmaceutical: anthelmintic, antiseptic, carminative, anti-spasmodic, diaphoretic,
