It dissolves slightly in alcohol. Under the higher temperature, it can sublimate and it has corrosiveness to glass.

  Used as acid treatmeating of oil field and making magnesium and magnesium alloy. It can be used as light-eliminating, frost-producing and etchant of glass. It can also be used as protective agent of wood, brightening agent of aluminum, rustremoval agent which used in textile industry and analytical reagent etc. Again, it can be used in electroplate and electronics industry.
