  AlP is used as a rodenticide, insecticide, and fumigant for stored cereal grains. It is used to kill small verminous mammals such as moles, rabbits, and rodents. The tablets or pellets typically also contain other chemicals that evolve ammonia which helps to reduce the potential for spontaneous ignition or explosion of the phosphine gas. Aluminium phosphide can be used for the fumigation of raw agricultural commodities, animal feed, processed foods and other non-food items. It may be used to fumigate corn, seeds, animal feed, coffee beans, cocoa beans, nuts in shells, flour, rice, candy, chocolate, cheese, cured, dried and processed meat products and dried fish, tea, tobacco, paper and paper products etc.
  Description:
  Aluminum phosphide products is a mixture of aluminium phosphide as active ingredient and ammonium carbamate as additive . it looks grayish green or yellowish green and smells garlic odour together with ammonia odour. The products are nonflammable but acted upon by atmospheric moisture to produce hydrogen phosphide which is highly toxic and flammable.
