Arbutin (beta-arbutin) is a skin lightening agent, which prevents the formation of melanin pigment by inhibiting tyrosinase activity. This process effectively eliminates age and liver spots, and can counter the effects of UV rays as well. The product is free from Hydroquinone and it becomes an ideal ingredient in functional lightening cosmetics without toxicity, stimulation and unpleasant odor.

Application Tips
In alkaline condition, arbutin is prone to be converted into hydroquinone, which was banned by FDA to be used in skin lightening products. But when under acidic condition, arbuin will hydrolysis. So, arbutin should be used at conditions of pH 7.0-7.1.
