  Latin Name: Radix Astragali
  The portion of the plant used medicinally is the four- to seven-year-old dried root collected in the spring. While there are over 2000 types of astragalus world-wide, the Chinese version has been extensively tested, both chemically and pharmacologically. This herbal extract has proven effective in healing infections. Research in America has shown that Astragali increases the number of T-cells in cancer patients to normal levels. Therefore, it is more effective in treatment of cancer in conjunction with chemother apy.
