In the oil industry, calcium chloride is used to increase the density of solids-free brines. It is also used to provide inhibition of swelling clays in the water phase of invert emulsion drilling fluids.

Also,Calcium chloride widely used as snow melting agent ,desiccant agent used for drying gases, dehydrating agent used in the production of alcohol, ester, ether and acrylic resin. refrigerant and antifreeze agent used for construction. Used in Oil field drilling to stable mud layer, lubrication drilling and making hole plug. Also it can be used in paper processing,calcium salt producing and agriculture etc.
