Nitrate materials are also oxidizing agents. When mixed with hydrocarbons, nitrate compounds can form a flammable mixture. In energy efficient fluorescent lighting, Europium provides not only the neccessary red, but also the blue. Europium Nitrate is generally immediately available in most volumes.
