  Hyaluronic Aicd (also called sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronon or HA) is an anionic, non sulfated glycosaminoglycan distributed widely throughout connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. It is unique among glycosaminoglycans in that it is nonsulfated, forms in the plasma membrane instead of the Golgi, and can be very large, with its molecular weight often reaching the millions. One of the chief components of the extracellular matrix, hyaluronan contributes significantly to cell proliferation and migration.

   Medical Use: HA helps control cell migration which protect cells and also activates the white cells. Since is an endogenous substance, it can be used to reduce the need for antibiotics by stimulating the immune system.HA aslo can reduce bacterial infections and has been found to inhibit the growth of a variety of strains of bacteria. It has also been concluded that HA even reduced the number of chronic bronchitis infections in patients.
