Handling and storage
Store in a cool, dry, ventilated storage area with acid-resistant floors and good drainage. Protection from physical damage. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, water, and incompatible materials. Do not clean the container and use it for other purposes. When diluted, always add acid to water; Do not add water to acid. When opening metal containers, use tools that do not generate sparks, as hydrogen may be present.
Application:
Used in the production of fertilizers. Phosphate rocks are combined with sulfuric acid to produce treated water-soluble phosphates, which are essential for plant growth and survival. It is also an acid used in car batteries. Car batteries contain lead, lead oxide and sulfuric acid. These lead batteries are used because they not only provide the current needed to start the car, but can also be recharged by the car's electrical system while the car is running. During battery charge, lead sulphate is converted back to lead and lead dioxide, releasing sulphuric acid into the electrolyte.
