  This product is D-mannitol . Calculated on dry goods , including C6H14O6 should be 98.0 ~ 102.0% .
  Properties:white crystalline powder ; odorless, sweet .
  This product is soluble in water, in ethanol or ether almost insoluble.
  Melting point melting point of this product ( Appendix Ⅵ C) to 166 ~ 170 ℃.
  
  Identification:
  
  (1) To about 0.5g, test tube , add acetyl chloride 3ml, slowly dropping pyridine 0.5ml, with

  A melting point of 120 ~ 125 ℃.
  (2) to take this product a saturated aqueous solution 1ml, add ferric chloride solution and sodium hydroxide solution each 0.5ml, which generates
  Brown precipitate , shaking does not disappear ; dropping an excess of sodium hydroxide solution , which dissolved into a brown solution .
  (3) The infrared absorption spectrum should control of the spectrum ( spectral set 84 Figure ) consistent .
