Mechanical properties of non-magnetic drill collars
Hardness requirements
In each bar or tube on the hardness test. Should be in accordance with ISO6506-1 or ASTM A-370 requirements, the use temperature Brinell test method, the bar or the outer surface of the pipe (the entire length of not less than 5 points) and the cross-section hardness test, hardness is> 285 ~ 341HB
Tensile Requirements
Should be carried out in line ISO6892 or ASTM A370, 0.2% residual deformation law requires cylindrical specimens to determine tensile properties.
Tensile samples may be taken from either end of the bar or tube. Sample processing area should be located so that the center of the gauge from the bar or tube ends at least 4in. The direction of the tensile specimen longitudinal centerline of the outer surface of the specimen thickness 25mm or centerline, select smaller. Male threads of the pipe material thickness measured central location plus tensile test and hardness test.
