Introduction | IBA 3-Indolebutyric acid is an endogeous indole plant hormone which exists universally in plants, belonging to the indole compound. |
Physical properties | The pure product is colourless to pale yellow crystal, the melting point is 122-124°C. It's soluble in alcohol, acetone, ethoxyethane; moisture in light and wet air; very stable in neutral, acidic and akaline medium. |
Mode of action | It's a kind of plant growth regulator which acts on cell division and cell elongation in plants. |
Application | · To stimulate rooting of herbaceous and woody ornamentals; · To make some transplanted crops root early and root more; · To promote root elongation growth and root lignification of flowers ( for example: jasmine, begonia, camellia, etc); · To promote fruit set of vegetables and fruits by soaking the branches ( for example: tomato, cucumber, fig, strawberry, raspberry, etc); It would get better effect when used together with other rooting reagent. |
Storage | IBA need to be stored in a cool, dry place, in case of causing decomposition in light. |
