Detailed Description:
Polychloroprene, SN239:
Introduction
SN239 is a general purpose, mercaptan modified polychloroprene rubber produced using a Nairit recipe and process technology. SN239 has a medium crystallization rate and can be seen as an equivalent to the WHV grade from Dupont.
Characteristics
Highest viscosity of the SN23x series
Excellent tear strength, the vulcanizates maintain very good properties even when highly filled or plasticized
Medium crystallization rate and good solubility
Good resistance to oil, chemicals, ozone, sunshine and abrasion
Good flame retardency and electrical properties
Appearance
White or grey chips. No solid impurities except talcum.
Comparable grades
Dupont: Neoprene WHV
Denka: Denka M-130
Lanxess: Baypren 243
Application
The main application for SN239 is for highly filled compounds or for adjusting the viscosity of adhesive formulations. SN239 is often extruded as hose and particularly for harder wire and cable sheaths. SN239 is also used for formulating adhesives, particularly for adhesive plasters.
