  As a Feed additive
  KI is an ionic compound, wherein the iodine ions with silver ions to form a dark yellow precipitate of silver iodide (see light decomposition, can be used for the production of high-speed photographic film), it can be used to verify the presence of silver nitrate, iodine ions. Thyroxine iodine as an ingredient, is closely related with the basal metabolism of livestock and poultry, almost all of the substances involved in the metabolic process, livestock iodine deficiency can cause thyroid hypertrophy, decreased basal metabolic rate, affecting growth and development. Animal feed young animals and iodine-deficient areas in need of iodine, yielding dairy cows, hens yielding iodine requirements increase, which also need to add iodine diet. Iodine in milk and eggs, with increasing feed iodine increases. According to reports, the high iodine eggs can reduce the body's cholesterol levels, high blood pressure is good for the health of patients.   Usage
  Potassium iodide is used to treat overactive thyroid and to protect the thyroid gland from the effects of radiation from inhaled or swallowed radioactive iodine. It may be used before and after administration of medicine containing radioactive iodine.
