  Sericite is one kind of mica and it is one of silicate minerals that has layer structure.It can be widely used in rubber, plastic, coating, paint, ceramics, heat preservation, cosmetics, paint, paper making and metallurgy industries etc.The crystals of sericite is scaly,and the crystallineaggregate is in bulk.It could be grey, purple rose, white, with silky luster.
  Sericite is a natural white mica of fine grains and it is a white mica subspecies.It is also the silicate mineral with layer structure. Its structure is a double entry silicalayer with two layers of silicon oxygen tetrahedron covered with one layer of aluminum oxygen octagonal.When cleaving completely,it can be split into extremely thin slices.The thickness of piece can be below 1u and the radius-thickness ratio is big.When compared to white mica,it has smaller size of particle and it is easier to be processed superfine.The chemical formula of sericite crystal is K 0.5-1 ( Al,Fe,Mg )2 ( SiAl )4O10(OH)2nH2O.The general chemical composition is SiO2 43.13~49.04%,Al2O3 27.93~37.44%,K2O+Na2O9~11%��H2O 4.13~6.12%.
