  Sulphur black doesn’t solubilized in water directly, to be absorbed by the fabrics, you need to use sodium sulfide as a reduction to make it as the salt with hydroxy leuco body, then after the oxidation in the air, it backs to insoluble to immobilized on the fabrics. As this kind of dyes needs sodium sulfide as reduction, it got the name “Sulphur Dyes”.
