  Nature: colorless or light yellow transparent liquid with irritant smell. Density: 1.640g/cm3.Melting point: -104℃. Boiling point:76℃. It easily dissolves in benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride under standard atmospheric pressure. It also can dissolve in some of the metalline iodide. It can be didided into sulfurous acid and hydrochloric acid in water. When being heated to 140℃, it can be didided into chlorine, sulphur dioxide and sulphur oxide as well.
